Classroom ExpectationsOur school is part of the PBS (Positive Behavior System) initiative. We strive to build our students into positive, active citizens. At the end of each quarter, students who have not received disciplines will get to participate in a PBS party for their positive behaviors!
An example of a discipline might be not working in class when time is given; that would be considered being off task. Another example would be talking to neighbors during times of quiet work time such as math homework time, reading or writing time. Major disciplines would include things such as fighting, assault, or bullying. |
Homework ClubIn order for students to receive Homework Club, it is their responsibility to complete and turn in all of their classwork and homework on time. This includes completely filling out their reading logs for the week. Reading logs begin on Fridays and end on Thursdays to be turned in on Friday. For example, I handed out new reading logs today, Friday. They placed them in their take home binders. They are expected to read tonight and fill out the line for Friday. On Monday, they will read again and fill out the line for Monday, and so on. When classwork is given, plenty of time is allowed for students to complete most or all of their work. Anything that is not completed in class is then considered homework and is due when they come to school the following day. If all work is turned in on time all week long, then Homework Club is earned for that week.
